Trouser envy

Trouser envy - thankfully, they're already on my legs

TROUSERS FROM THE AMAZING TOPSHOP $50 - ON SALE (So good, I know!)

To fall in love with life

And with those five words, I chose to begin the transformation from doing life to loving life.

Too many times I complain about the little things when really, it’s the little things that so personally bind and mould you to who you are and who you’re becoming. Sure enough I want to be remembered as someone who believed in the power of determination, however when it comes to the enjoyment of life – that is where my heart will lay. I chase after the moments that make me happy; that make me fall in love with the life I choose to live. We all have a say in life – free will came long before our time so there’s no excuse to go about being bound because eh, a lot of the time you’ll find the major boundary getting between life and love is you. Happiness can be found in all aspects of life no matter what you’re going through. Lately I’ll find myself smiling over such spontaneous activities but I honestly can’t help it. Perhaps it’s the circumstances but irrespective of everything, I am falling more and more in love with my life every single day.

Grateful. Incredibly darn grateful.

It's Monday, I'm in Love.

It's a Monday afternoon, the sun was shining and for the first time in a very long while I felt so incredibly carefree. No worries - no worries in the world - not an ounce of my feelings contained such downers that could potentially upset a mere perfect day.

As I usually do, I dressed exactly how I felt - spontaneous, vibrant, full of life and oh so carefree. So with good moods, came even better [good] clothing. Scrambling through my closet I long behold the perfect find - The amazing gear from Paint It Red - It seemed relevant, I mean, I did feel like painting the town with my vibes ...so why not make it red? Now if you know me well enough (don't worry if you don't, I'm sure you're learning quite quickly what I'm like!) you'd know I love to be bold - I've learnt to step away from the usual and step into the [un]usual so today was my perfect day to do just that.

Lately I've become a huge fan of all things sheer. What's not to love? Honestly. It feels great, looks amazing and better yet, ticks all the right boxes when it comes to comfort and ease. It can be so easily dressed up (or down, whatever floats your boat) with that one piece... whether it be those amazing white leather pants or perhaps it's that beyond incredible vintage piece you picked up on your way through a small rural town ...SHEER WORKS. Layer it, double it, single it - do whatever you like to it.

When it comes to experimenting with different textures and prints, Paint It Red have it nailed. I can't get enough of my shorties - they scream fun and hey, that's what I'm all about. The bomber jacket is light, playful and really wearable (easy to dress down or up). The top just speaks for itself... Has sheer written all over it - WINNING!

So ladies and gents, go be carefree -even if it's just for tonight. Enjoy someones company, even if it is your own - ain't nothin' wrong with a lil' R&R all for yourself, right?

ZARA SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER LOOKBOOK 13'

Zara recently released their September/October 2013 look book and I’m utterly intrigued by this juxtaposed love affair. What caught my eye most was the beautiful use of layering. Contrasting two terms of difference: Conformity vs. Enticement. With the sweet, soft nature of the silky lace contrasted over the constructed more fitted pieces, the designers have been able to create a well-crafted collection set to challenge the ready-to-wear pieces.

Keep your eyes open, this juxtaposed romance should be hitting the ZARA stores very soon. I can hardly contain my excitement.

Enjoy

Nice day for a white wedding

Weddings. We’ve all probably been to at least one or two in our lifetime – good and bad, we celebrate regardless; toasting to the love and joy that bound two individuals to become one.

As a young, single, somewhat independent woman, I see weddings not only as an opportunity to celebrate the love that has been bound, but also as a chance for love to blossom (did I really just say that out loud!?)… But honestly, I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t admit it. Weddings are an excuse to frock up, feel good and feed your inner Goddess. I mean really, who wouldn’t want to meet their potential prince charming all suited up looking incredibly dashing? I surely would. But alas, unfortunately for me, I had no luck – at least I felt good regardless. Thank God for amazing clothes really. Its funny I should say this, but in some way or another, I kind of felt like my dress was my dress: my partner in crime. And boy, it did me well! #proud

So, that brings me to the amazing outfit itself – Dressed in the amazing Cameo the Label, I was ready for an amazing day ahead. Made from a thick, neoprene-like material, double lined, with an incredible smoke print covering the front bodost. With a beautiful, sleek top half meets a detailed, A-line tapered bottom half. And that’s what I love so much about Cameo – precision and authenticity – like no other.

And as far as the wedding goes, it was beautiful, I’d even go as a far as overwhelming: It’s incredible to see how much love two individuals can have for one another. And no I’m not talking about the “oh my God I love him” one minute, “I hate him” the next kind of love; I’m talking authentic, passionate, eternal love that I too, one day hope to experience with that special someone. Did I mention I’ve started a ‘MY WEDDING DAY’ folder on Pinterest? And don’t you dare judge, A WOMAN CAN DREAM OKAY.

Baggy jean bare essentials

Baggy jeans. They're the one essential that every gal should have in their wardrobe: no matter what kind of mood your in, the baggy jeans will always be in the mood for you. I think a lot of the time people simply place them in the "can't be bothered" pile - or perhaps you're using the "too hard to pull off" excuse. Stop! Drop! ...And thrift shop! (hahaha - but seriously!).

You're missing out. I honestly couldn't even count on both hands how many pairs of baggy, high-waist vintage jeans I have. My hope is to do a lil' bit of DIY but hey, let's be honest, I'll probably be 50 by the time that comes around... so here I am, rocking the old school Levi's that were most likely the reason that girl is now the girl. And I mean really, who doesn't want to be that girl? Ooozing with good vibes, an edge that's like no other and a style that speaks for itself.

And that's the great perk about vintage - It's never the same. All garments are authentically made, created and worn; embedded with memories, past and future, ready to be shown off, complimented and flaunted. Next spare moment you have, think about the outfit you have on - what memories do your clothing possess? When you're in vintage, it's not just another one of those manufactured pair of jean's. Your wearing life - you never know who wore it before you and better yet, who could potentially be wearing it in 50 years time.

And with my words spoken, here's to whoever got to cherish these amazing pair of jeans before myself.

Let me know what you think of vintage - yay or nay? Do you have that one vintage piece that you'll never let go of no matter what? Tell me! I'd love to hear your stories.

Cameo The Label, I'm in love

You know those kind of people that complain about people such as myself spending a heck of a lot of money on clothes? Well, they've obviously either A. never come across Cameo The Label or B. had the same sort of emotional experience when wearing such pieces like the Embers bomber jacket.

As stupid as it sounds, I actually really feel for this jacket... it makes me happy - sooo incredibly happy. Pieces such as these need no words - the jacket speaks for itself. Sure enough, you can rock it however you like but the key to working amazing garments is to dress with a level of simplicity. There's well and truly enough texture, print and colour happening so let it be, and make your boldest garment the eye-catching, look twice, "oh my god, I want that" feature.

This beauty had my name written all over it and I know it'll become a total staple in my SS14 wardrobe. Have you got your staple pieces yet? Let me give you a heads up, stop trying to justify why you shouldn't spend so much money on something you absolutely love! Bite the bullet and just buy it - If you don't, you'll end up with something not-so-amazing and if you're like me, you'll probably wear it once or twice and spend the rest of summer hitting yourself about why you didn't purchase it in the first place ...I'm still yet to give-up on a pair of pants I didn't purchase last season (I will find them, I will, I will!!)  DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF! Your bank account will eventually be losing funds either way, so you miser-oh-well get the dirty work done fast.

Hope you've all enjoyed the long weekend as much as I have. Sit back, enjoy, and perhaps go make use of the funds while they're still in your account... AKA. Buy that dream Jacket, or whatever your heart may desire.

FREEDOM TO LIVE A LIFE WORTH LIVING

Freedom of speech.

Fuel me with the freedom to live a life worth living.

Let the world be my oyster, forever captivated by the sweet sense of success. Let me not be feared by what's ahead, rather let me be confident, clothed with courage and self-driven determination.

Here's my drift, don't listen to people that try to break you down. Instead, let it be the fuel behind the drive to your own success. Prove them otherwise - I think half the time people forget that we have freedom of speech. I mean seriously, don't look so worried. You are so free. The only boundaries in life are the ones we title our own.

You know, I'm a bit strange sometimes - often when I'm catching the train during peak hour I'll usually blank out, fall into my own world, sometimes to the extent of a completely different planet (where I have an unlimited amount of funds perhaps? no, but seriously!). I take the time to reflect amongst the chaos that surrounds me - getting pushed and shoved - everyone is so busy, trapped even, trying to get some place else. Meanwhile here I am, so lost in the moment of now. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else - I long to embrace the surroundings forever my b-e-a-utttifullllll shoes may take me because truth is if we're forever trying to be somewhere else, we're missing out on what life's trying to bring us now.

I'll be myself, I'll choose to live with freedom of speech and I'll take those opportunities with open hands.  Like they all say, ....The world is our oyster, right? Embrace it.
