NYE RESOLUTIONS

Well as this year comes to an end I feel as though I'm partly obligated to write a New Year's resolution list. So here goes nothing - do read on though. There's not an ounce in body that isn't screaming excitement. I know it's true what they say; "you don't need a new year to start a new life" but hey, I feel like a new year is just so much more inviting - don't get me wrong - snaps to you if you're just killin' it day-by-day but for me, a new year screams a new start, and what better way to start than with some fresh shoes that have 'power' drenched all over them. In 2014, I'm going to make black and white my bitch - by that, i mean I'm going to deposit of all things monochrome and dispose of all things else. Instead of wasting my money on thing's i like, I'd prefer to spend more on something I'd drop dead (of love) to wear... I've been inspired by the fashion culture of the European life and I can hardly wait to start my new wardrobe off with a bang. Better yet, I can't wait until Winter hits Australia - this year, I'm going all out with my coats: I mean it's still technically Summer and I'm already dreaming of that perfect coat. What on earth is wrong with me? Absolutely nothin' I'll tell you that much. My shoes will consist of comfort, capability and that perfect 4 inch and up heel/wedge/whatever my heart desires look - to be tall forever in my days of 2014 will be totally and utterly worth the crazy amounts of band-aids, blisters and broken toes (hopefully not to that extreme - but I like to cover all bases) that I will endure over the 365 days of happiness and powerful heights. I'll grow wise in my days, miss several late night trains, j-walk on the busy streets of sydney - time after time, drink numerous bottles of beautiful wine, wear the perfect coats to keep me cozy on the coldest of days and seek the one's who will build up my character, as I become more and more like the lady I always wanted to be and more. So get prepared, 2014, I'm ready to make you my bitch.

2014, meet Brooke - Brooke, meet 2014.

2013 in review

WELL HELLO THERE 2014 - NEW YEAR INSPO

Oh 2013, what a year it certainly has been. You've brought out every feeling, emotion and expression ever thought possible in me - I've cried, I've laughed, I've experienced life in its fullness with each and every path I endeavored on. You've left me blown away at the greatness that life brings when you decide to step out of what is and into - what could be. In 2014, I choose to live through potential. I sit back and look at this moment a year from now, blown away at the opportunities I've got to experience. Never, ever, EVER did I think I'd be doing what I am now; in a way it's kind of confronting, the fact that I can't even begin to think about what I'll be writing about a year from now - oh the thought is so daunting - mind you, it's quite exciting too.

So, here's to a wonderful year. 2013, Thank you for pushing me to my limits - taking me to places I never thought plausible and most importantly, surrounding me with beautiful people that have journeyed with me every step of the exciting race that has become what is, the life that I am living in those more than perfect, 6 inch shoes.

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and more than exciting New Year for 2014. Enjoy each and every minute: take the good with the bad and never for a second forget that you are valued and placed on this planet for a reason bigger and better than ever imaginable. We are all destined for greatness, take it how you like - but make it worth your time because in reality this time, right now, is all we have. So as the year comes to an end, go devour delicious food, drink some fine wine and have that perfect kiss with that special someone. End this year well - it's never too late to live in happiness.

With all my love

The Australian Summer
Take me to the midst of the desert plains
Drench me in your sunrays and
Enrich me with your culture.
Dressed for the dingo's

Something About White

Today I got asked why I'm always wearing white. My answer? Because I can - Not really, but that too. First thing's first: white is such a refreshing colour; I challenge the day someone speaks up and tries to suggest it's demonic. It's not - not at all - and never will be. Right, next logical point - IT MAKES ME FEEL HAPPY (ain't nobody walkin' on my sunshine with a woman dressed in white) ...I feel renewed; empowered - like a blank canvas waiting to be christened with fresh paint. It's versatile, modern, chic' - you name it. I guess too, a lot of the time I treat fashion like art - I express myself through the beautiful garments I wear and do life in. I challenge the layers, textures and even the sizes ...who said I couldn't fit into an XL - IT'S CALLED OVER-SIZED, BITCH. But really, in all seriousness - I love a good over-sized coat.. what's not to love? ...exactly.

So to all those lovers out there rockin' the white: keep going - ain't nobody walkin' on yo' sunshine baby. #TEAMWHITE

Monochrome Madness PART TWO #teamwhite

 #TEAMWHITE

But really, we all love a good white post - yeah? Of course you do. And so do I.
So as the title suggests, here is part two of my shoot I styled not long ago. I was inspired by the juxtaposing life that I (along with several others) experience on a day-to-day/week-to-week/year-to-year basis. Actually but: life is challenging at the best of times, yet alone when something unexpected get's thrown in and suddenly you're fighting for control over you and your treasured life. I guess it's all in the balance; putting standards on things you allow into your life whilst at the same time, saying goodbye to the bad that so urgently wants you to take a trip down not-so memorable lane. So here's to lessons learnt and lessons to come - I want to be bad, but I want to be good. I'll call this one a dedication to life expressed through the maniac madness that is, my life in monochrome. I love you black and white.

M is for Monochrome PART 1

Monochrome – it’s one of those trends that is so inclusive that almost everyone should have at least or one or two looks happenin’ in their wardrobe. I mean come on, its black and white… I don’t know about you lot, but you’re crazy not to own at least one white blouse? Am I right or ...AM I RIGHT? It’s an all-encompassing trend that allows people from all ages, all styles, all everything to flaunt what they’ve got and rock the black and white staple pieces.

If you know me well enough, you’ll know my cupboard is completely full of monochrome madness. Why? 1. It doesn’t go out of season, 2. Most pieces are so versatile that they can be styled from summer all the way through to winter and 3. Black and white intrigues me – sometimes I feel as though it’s a hidden expression of thoughts and feelings… people tend to brush off these two staple colours as ‘safe’ or ‘bland’ but in all honestly, they’re two of the most intriguing colours of them all. Just sayin'.

So here’s a spontaneous editorial shoot I did recently: dedicated to all the monochrome maniacs out there AKA. ME, MYSELF AND I. PART ONE - Two and three coming soon!

Lots of love on this b-e-a-utiful Wednesday night

Bad girls in bad boy boots

The power of black makes a bad boy run home -Happy weekend ladies and gents.

Oh Friday, I've missed you. Here's to the weekend - a time for carefree frolicking about the city, dressing to impress, dancing the night away, eating delicious meals, drinking mighty fine beverages and most importantly, surrounding yourself with people who bring out the best in you.

Just a lil' outfit inspo for the weekend. Be lovely, get some lovin' and of course - love on others always. Lookout white, I think you have some competition; baby I'm back in black.
